A muddy anchorage on the north side of Koh Taphao Yai off a small resort, about 7 nm from Chalong. It is not pretty, but it is safe in all seasons and close to Phuket Town.
Practical
5-8 m, mud. Considered safe in all seasons, but very choppy in the NE monsoon (SEAP). The old small jetty with floating pontoon has been replaced by the larger Visit Panwa pier, which is less convenient for dinghies. Road access to Phuket Town.
