Ko Taphao Noi Lighthouse
7° 50.0′ N · 98° 25.4′ E · approximate
A tiny island 400 m northeast of Koh Taphao Yai, topped by a white 11 m lighthouse built in 1899 and a Sino-Portuguese keeper's house, said to be the first building of its kind in Phuket. It marks the approaches to Ao Makham and the Phuket (Tha Chin) River.
Practical
The coordinate is the OSM island centroid; the lighthouse position is not published separately. The area overview cites Ko Taphao Noi as Phuket's tide reference station, but this database could not confirm it from the Royal Thai Navy Hydrographic Department site; take Phuket tide predictions from the Hydrographic Department (hydro.navy.mi.th) National Tide Tables. Pass north of Koh Taphao Noi to the first channel marker for the Koh Siray river entrance (SEAP).
