Questions, problems, ideas or a report: email support@sailspo.com. We answer as soon as we can, and we review reports of objectionable content or abusive users within 24 hours.

Email support

It helps to tell us which iPhone and iOS version you use, which trip or screen it happened on, and what you expected to happen. A screenshot is great.

Report content

If something breaks our community rules, report it in the app:

  • A comment: open the comment’s menu and tap Report, then choose a reason.
  • A place review: tap Report review on the review.
  • A shared route or a place: tap Report a problem on its page.

A route or place you report disappears for you straight away, and a comment or review that several people report is hidden for everyone while we look at it. We review every report within 24 hours and remove content and ban accounts that break the rules. You can also email support@sailspo.com with a link or screenshot.

Block someone

Open the menu on one of their comments and tap Block. Their comments and reviews disappear for you everywhere. To unblock, go to Your profile → Blocked sailors and tap Unblock. On the website, it’s under Your profile.

Delete your account

  • In the app: Crew tab → Your profile → Delete my account.
  • If you are not on a trip: My Trips → Delete my account.
  • On the website: sailspo.com/account → Delete my account.

Deleting removes your profile and Sailor ID and takes you off every trip. Trips where you’re the only person aboard are deleted. Expenses, payments and photos you added stay with the trips you shared, so your crew’s records still add up. If you are the last captain of a trip with crew aboard, make someone else captain first. It can’t be undone. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is deleted and what stays.

Sailor ID help

Verifying with your passport

  • You need an iPhone that can read NFC and a passport with a chip (look for the chip symbol on the cover).
  • The first check downloads the face model once. Use Wi-Fi if you can.
  • Scan the photo page in good light, then hold the top of your iPhone flat on the passport’s back cover and keep still until the chip is read.
  • Do the face check in good light, facing the camera, without a hat or sunglasses.
  • You can try up to five times a day.
  • “Already linked” means the passport is verified on another SailSpo account. Each passport links to one Sailor ID. Email us if that isn’t right.

We never store your passport number or the chip photo, and face matching runs on your iPhone. See the Privacy Policy for the details.

Voyages, certifications and boats

Add voyages, certifications and boats on your Sailor ID. Voyages you log are locked after 30 days; later changes are kept as revisions. If a voyage or certificate is wrong, edit it, or email us.

Sharing

Share your Sailor ID with a link. Turn Sharing off to stop the link working, or tap New link to replace it. Export PDF for a charter company makes a résumé on your iPhone that you send yourself.

A Sailor ID level is guidance, not a license. Charter companies make their own decisions.
