Ao Makham Deep Sea Port
7° 49.2′ N · 98° 24.3′ E
Phuket's deep-water port and cruise-ship terminal in Ao Makham, north of Cape Panwa, reached through a dredged channel between Koh Taphao Yai and Phuket with buoyed passages to the north and south.
Practical
The main wharf is built for large ships and is impractical and hard on topsides for most yachts (SEAP). Fuel and water are delivered to the quay by truck; vessels over 500 GT take duty-free fuel here after clearing out, arranged through an agent (Noonsite). Two smaller jetties north of the Cruise Terminal are used by day-trip boats; small loads can be ferried by dinghy, but avoid speedboat arrival and departure times. Position is the OSM port area.
