Nurse Cay
22° 28.2′ N · 75° 50.4′ W · approximate
A small cay just north of Buenavista where baby nurse sharks hide among the rocks in the shallows, next to the deep Nurse Channel.
Practical
Coordinate is the GeoNames island position. A 2011 charter itinerary visited from the Buenavista anchorage by tender and found shallow water with juvenile nurse sharks under the rocks. We found no published anchorage review for Nurse Cay itself; use Buenavista or Low Water Harbour and come by dinghy in calm conditions. Little Nurse Cay lies just south (GeoNames 22.45, -75.833). Look, don't touch: nurse sharks bite when grabbed.
Best for
A dinghy trip to see juvenile nurse sharks
