Morne Larcher Hike
14° 27.9′ N · 61° 3.3′ W
A steep, rocky climb up the volcanic dome behind Le Diamant to a 360-degree view straight down onto Diamond Rock and the whole south coast.
Practical
Summit position from OSM; French Wikipedia and other sources give the summit at about 478 m. Visorando's one-way route from the Anse Cafard car park to Petite Anse (Anses d'Arlet) is 3.74 km, about 2 hours 15 minutes, with roughly 415 m of climb, rated difficult. Out and back from Anse Cafard is about 2 hours. The final section is close to scrambling, so good shoes are essential. The path is fairly shaded, but start early to beat the heat and carry water.
