Rocher du Diamant (Diamond Rock) Dive
14° 26.6′ N · 61° 2.4′ W
Martinique's signature dive: walls dropping off a 175 m basalt pinnacle, sea fans and sponges, and the famous cave and fissures that cut through the rock, with barracuda and turtles.
Practical
Position from Wikipedia (rock about 2 km off Pointe du Diamant, 5.3 ha). Wikipedia describes a deep triangular cave as a major attraction, with strong currents that make diving here risky. Dive with a local operator who knows the current and site choice. Le Diamant and Le Marin centres run trips: An Dlo and DSC Plongée from Le Diamant (about 10 minutes away), Marin Plongée and Plongée Immersion Caraïbes from Le Marin, and Natiyabel weekly from Ste-Anne (see individual entries). Because of the currents, treat it as a guided dive and let the operator choose the site and timing. Diamond Rock is a protected site (OSM tags it nature reserve). Landing on the rock is not something the sources describe as permitted.
