Grande Anse du Diamant Beach

14° 28.5′ N · 61° 1.9′ W

A long sweep of sand facing Diamond Rock: one of the island's great beach views, but an exposed shore with real surf.

Practical

Position is from OSM (Plage de la Grande Anse du Diamant). Anchorages.co lists an anchorage off the beach at 14.4722, -61.0254 with generally reliable sand holding. It warns that strong winds whip through and swell becomes significant when the weather changes. Land by dinghy only in calm conditions; the shorebreak can flip a tender. The village of Le Diamant has a market, pharmacies, bakeries and restaurants (OSM). Sargassum strandings have been photographed on this beach.

Best for

Sunset view of Diamond Rock

Season

Calm trades only for landing; dangerous surf in southerly swell
