Anses d'Arlet Bourg Anchorage (Petite Anse d'Arlet)
14° 29.3′ N · 61° 4.9′ W
The village bay of Les Anses-d'Arlet: a postcard row of fishermen's houses, a white church at the head of a long pier and a nicer, quieter beach than Grande Anse, with a reef right off the sand for snorkelling.
Practical
Noonsite (March 2022): 34 visitor moorings on the east side of the bay, 14 for boats up to 8 m and 20 for boats up to 15 m. No anchoring within 300 m of the beach or in line with the moorings. ActiveCaptain (2024): anchoring is forbidden in the northern half, in front of the town and the yellow buoys. You may anchor in the southern half, but holding there is poor, with isolated patches of sand over rock in 25-30 ft and lots of seagrass, fish traps and floats. Larger boats must anchor well off. Approach from SW to W and avoid the fish farm off the southern part of the bay, well off the beach. Dinghy to the town pier in front of the church. Snorkelling reef just off the beach, once marked by metal can buoys (Noonsite, 2017). Village has small shops, bakeries and a post office (closed from 1 pm Wednesdays). Clearance computer at the Cyberbase (see its own entry).
Best for
A pretty village stop with snorkelling, less crowded than Grande Anse
