Koh Rawi Southwest Anchorage
6° 32.5′ N · 99° 11.4′ E
A sand shelf off Rawi's south-west beach, inside a protruding reef bank, with a freshwater creek ashore and a jungle trail to a year-round waterfall.
Practical
Southeast Asia Pilot (6°32.511N 99°11.408E): pick up a mooring or anchor in 5-10 m on the sandy shelf east of the reef bank opposite the beach. Keep well clear of the reef extending to the east on approach. Strong current, so take care snorkelling. A black pipe near the beach lets you fill jerry cans with fresh water. Day anchorage and snorkelling mid-bay across the isthmus in 10-14 m. Park fee and seasonal closure apply.
Best for
Overnight with a waterfall hike and fresh water
