Koh Pung Drift Dive

6° 32.5′ N · 99° 9.9′ E

A fast drift past boulders cloaked in pink and purple soft coral off the islet next to the Butang North anchorage, with cuttlefish, hawksbill turtles and eagle rays.

Practical

Ko Lipe Diving School: drift dive 18-40 m, parts subject to strong currents. Wikivoyage lists 'Stonehenge and Ko Pung' as recommended for big marine life. Island position from OpenStreetMap (Ko Pung, alt. Ko Raba), just east of the Butang North anchorage; dinghy-diveable from there with care, but the current is strong.

Best for

Advanced drift dive from Butang North
