Koh Lao Ya
11° 56.2′ N · 102° 24.7′ E · approximate
A trio of small private islands between Koh Chang and Koh Wai, with a picturesque white-sand beach. The big tour boats skip it, so it is quieter in peak season.
Practical
Iamkohchang describes Koh Laoya as a private island with a white-sand beach, visited by smaller speedboats ('the big boats don't go there'). It is also named as a private island at the mouth of Salak Phet Bay. OpenStreetMap maps three islets (Koh Lao Ya Nai, Klang and Nok) and the Hin Kong Ko Lao Ya rocks just southeast; keep clear of the rocks. No anchorage data is published, so treat it as a calm-day stop. The coordinate is placed off the islets' east side and is approximate.
