Koh Ngam Day Anchorage

11° 56.9′ N · 102° 26.5′ E

Two wooded humps joined by a curving sandbar, about 4 nm east of Salak Phet's mouth. It is one of the archipelago's prettiest lunch stops, with an abandoned resort ashore.

Practical

Southeast Asia Pilot waypoint 11°56.879N 102°26.458E, 16 nm from Khlong Son: good day mooring in the southeast bay, but the island's shape can cause turbulent, gusty winds. National park island, so there are no facilities. Leaving the bay, keep well clear of the dangerous rock just to the south until you are in more than 10 m (see the Koh Ngam South Rock passage). Day use only.

Best for

A swim-and-lunch stop on the sandbar

Season
