Koh Wai Reef
11° 54.2′ N · 102° 24.8′ E
Shallow reef straight off Koh Wai's beach and pier, with big schools of fish, often a resting reef shark on the sand, and leopard sharks and rays nearby. You can walk in from the beach.
Practical
Iamkohchang dive guide: reef sharks on the seabed, leopard sharks and rays, and a shallow reef that suits snorkellers. The snorkel guide calls it ideal for families, who can stand waist-deep or feed fish from the pier, though visibility is not always great. Outside the park, so there is no fee. Full-day tour boats stop here last in the afternoon, so snorkel in the morning or after they leave. The coordinate is OpenStreetMap's 'Good snorkeling' point off the northeast beach.
