Koh Wai South Anchorage
11° 53.7′ N · 102° 24.2′ E
Koh Wai's south bay, the island's northeast-monsoon overnight, linked by a jungle path to the resort beach on the other side.
Practical
Southeast Asia Pilot waypoint 11°53.717N 102°24.240E: good overnight mooring in the NE season. A 20-minute jungle walk (bring a torch) links to the northeast coast. A yachting.com charter guide also names a small bay on the southwest side as Koh Wai's best overnight spot and warns against dragging anchor through coral. Pick sand and set carefully. A south-side dock is visible in photos of the island.
Best for
NE-season overnight with a jungle walk across the island
Season
NE monsoon (Nov–Apr)
