Salsipuedes North Slot Pinnacles Dive

28° 43.6′ N · 112° 57.2′ W

Large underwater pinnacles at the entrance to Isla Salsipuedes' North Slot, 40-60 ft deep and covered in plant and fish life — the dive counterpart to the slot's snorkelling.

Practical

Waypoint 28°43.643'N, 112°57.209'W from S/V Ceilidh's dive list (Club Cruceros). Snorkel inside the anchorage; dive the entrance at 40-60 ft. A large rock sits nearly mid-channel at the slot mouth and reefs choke the pass to Isla Las Ánimas — come and go by dinghy. Strong tidal currents run in the Canal de Salsipuedes (The Log: the deepest part of the Gulf), so dive at slack and in settled weather; the slot itself is untenable in a norther.
