Ensenada La Gringa Anchorage

29° 2.2′ N · 113° 32.6′ W

A wide bay north of the village where the summer fleet gathers at full and new moon to ride the tidal estuary outflow like a lazy river.

Practical

Open approach — just clear Punta La Gringa. The obvious NE corner behind the spit is actually 50+ ft deep: most anchor west along the beach in 25-35 ft, good sand. The far west end under the 'La Gringa' sign gets shallow on big tides and has rocks. Protected N, E, W. Popular with local day-trippers and weekend campers (music). Club Cruceros notes it looks larger from outside than it is.

Best for

Full-moon tide parties and beach walks
