A beautiful, breezy bay on the Baja shore north of Bahía de los Ángeles where rampant westerlies blow nearly every night — a cool escape when the village anchorages are sweltering.
Practical
Large bay with room for a dozen boats (rarely more than four). Good sand at 15-30 ft. SE corner for SE breeze; west end of the beach when the west wind has north in it. From the south, round outside the rock islet marking the entrance; scattered rocks/reef lie near shore to the north — mark them if arriving from or leaving to the north. Hike up the big wind-built dune on the SE side for the view.
Best for
A cool night and a dune hike
Season
Summer; expect strong westerlies at night
