Varkarola Night Festival
39° 37.0′ N · 19° 55.5′ E
A summer night festival on the water re-enacting the 1716 siege, when Saint Spyridon is said to have sent the storm that drove off the Ottoman fleet: boats parade across the bay to Corfiot serenades and bands, a boat is set alight and fireworks fill the sky.
Practical
Coordinate is Garitsa Bay (OpenStreetMap). Held on the Saturday closest to 11 August, either in Garitsa Bay by Corfu Town or in the bay of Paleokastritsa (Greeka) — check which venue that year. Anchoring space in the venue bay will be crowded and parts may be closed for the show; arrive in daylight.
Best for
Watching a fireworks festival from your own deck
