Church of Saint Spyridon (Corfu Town)

39° 37.5′ N · 19° 55.4′ E

The red-domed bell tower behind the Liston is the tallest point in the old town and the first thing you see coming in by sea; inside rest the relics of Saint Spyridon, Corfu's patron, credited with saving the island from famine, plague and the 1716 Ottoman siege.

Practical

Coordinate from OpenStreetMap. The church was moved to this site in 1590 (Greeka). Modest dress for visits. His relics are carried through town in four litanies a year (see the litanies event entry); his feast day is 12 December.
