Water Caye Anchorage

17° 22.9′ N · 88° 4.4′ W · approximate

The sheltered overnight alternative to exposed Goff's Caye, a few miles north of the Belize City ship channel, used by charter boats as the night stop between Bluefield Range and Caye Caulker.

Practical

Position approximate: west side of Water Caye from its OpenStreetMap outline. Ventura Yacht Agency says captains prefer sheltered anchorage under Water Caye to Goff's; the Moorings' two-week route lunches at English Caye and overnights here, with free anchoring in sand and a few buoys depending on conditions; small restaurants, water and ice and trash disposal listed (Moorings itinerary page). Anchor in sand only, clear of seagrass and coral.
