Rendezvous Caye (Belize City Cayes)
17° 14.9′ N · 88° 3.2′ W
A privately owned sand-and-palm islet right on the barrier reef about 16 nm SSE of Belize City, with a beautiful beach, excellent snorkelling and dives inside and outside the wall; cruise-ship and Caye Caulker day trips use it.
Practical
Ventura Yacht Agency: a watchman on the island charges a cover charge, and exclusive use could be arranged for about US$600 a day (undated, verify locally). From the inside most yachts cannot get close: anchor behind Middle Long Caye or Bluefield Range about 3 miles away and come in by dinghy. From the outside there is a break in the reef that lets you approach from the east with more water - the better option for deeper drafts - but take care in the pass on dead-calm days (no surface signs) and in rough seas. Not a place to stay overnight unless you know the passage. Position: OpenStreetMap islet outline (this is the northern Rendezvous Caye, not the one near Placencia).
Best for
Reef snorkel and beach day stop from Bluefield Range or Middle Long Caye
