Pelican Harbour Anchorage (Pelican Point)
26° 22.7′ N · 77° 0.6′ W
Pelican Harbour is the sheltered water between the Pelican Cays and the Great Abaco shore; this anchorage tucks under Pelican Point on the mainland side for protection from west and south winds.
Practical
Room for about 6 boats, more if shallow draft. Grassy patches but plenty of sand; good holding in sand. No wake or current but some surge can roll in. Good hidey-hole for a strong westerly front. Shore is the site of the old Wilson City logging settlement ruins - overgrown and very buggy. No services: provision in Marsh Harbour or Hope Town.
Best for
W-SW front shelter at the south end of the Sea of Abaco
Season
Use in S-W winds
