Wax Cay Cut - Northern Boundary, Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park
24° 33.2′ N · 76° 47.4′ W · approximate
The invisible line where the rules change: south of Wax Cay Cut you are inside the 112,640-acre Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park, the world's first land-and-sea reserve (1958) and a total no-take zone since 1986. The water visibly improves and so does the fish life.
Practical
From here to Conch Cut (22 nm south): no fishing, no lobstering, no conching, no shelling, no collecting anything living or dead, by land or sea. Stow and secure your rods and spearguns. Anchoring is restricted in many areas and prohibited in the mooring fields; anchoring fees apply ($0.45/ft under 90 ft, $0.91/ft 90 ft and over, plus 10% VAT). Park HQ monitors VHF 09 and 16.
