Shroud Cay north creek — the classic kayak and SUP run
24° 31.9′ N · 76° 47.4′ W
A mangrove creek that cuts clean through Shroud Cay from the bank side to the Sound, opening onto a sandbar beach below the Camp Driftwood lookout. The best paddle in the Exumas.
Practical
The NORTH creek is a strict Idle Speed / No Wake Zone, and motorised vessels are PROHIBITED from all the other Shroud Cay tidal creeks. Time it on a rising or high tide — at low water you will run aground. Camp Driftwood is a hilltop lookout, not a campsite. Park fees apply (B$27.27/day up to 39ft plus VAT). Kayak-camping inside the park needs a BNT permit (B$300) plus B$27.27/person/day and two weeks notice, only at Hawksbill, Warderick Wells and O'Briens.
