Palm Island Day-Visitor Beach Bar (south end of west beach)

12° 35.1′ N · 61° 24.0′ W · approximate

The one corner of private Palm Island where outsiders have traditionally been welcome: a laid-back beach bar at the southern end of the long west-coast beach, popular with the yachting crowd from Clifton a mile away.

Practical

Coordinate is derived: the southern end of the west-coast shoreline in the OpenStreetMap outline of Palm Island (way 25000564); the bar's exact building was not mapped. Discover SVG: day boats are generally restricted to the southern end of the west beach, which has a bar open to visitors; Audley Travel likewise describes a beachside bar open to day visitors and the rest of the island as private to resort residents. The resort's Royal Palm Restaurant and Sunset Grill (Wikipedia) are guest venues; do not assume non-guests can dine there. Status: Doyle (2025) reports the resort and its amenities closed after Hurricane Beryl damage, so expect the bar to be shut until the resort reopens; the beach itself remains open. Call Palm Island on VHF 16 before landing to check.

Best for

A sundowner on a private-island beach (when the resort is open)

Season

Year-round when the resort operates; closed post-Beryl (2025 report)
