Palm Island Anchorage
12° 35.3′ N · 61° 24.2′ W · approximate
An anchorage off the docks on the west side of Palm Island, a 135-acre resort island a mile from Clifton fringed with white beaches and the palms Johnny 'Coconuts' Caldwell planted.
Practical
Coordinate is derived: water just west of the resort docks (OpenStreetMap). Doyle: anchor off the docks in 15 to 20 ft, sand, fair holding; it can be rolly, so try it for lunch and stay overnight only if comfortable. Palm Island monitors VHF 16. The resort and its amenities are closed after Hurricane Beryl damage (Doyle 2025), but you can still visit the anchorage and the beach. Approach from Clifton via Doyle's north-approach waypoint and keep clear of the reefs east of Clifton Harbour.
Best for
A lunch stop and beach walk a mile from Clifton
Season
Settled trades only; rolly in swell
