Fiestas Patronales de Nuestra Señora del Carmen (Vieques)

18° 8.9′ N · 65° 26.5′ W

Vieques' patron saint festival in July honors Our Lady of Mount Carmel, patron of fishermen, with processions, music, rides, crafts and food around the Isabel Segunda plaza.

Practical

Position is the Casa Alcaldía on the Isabel Segunda plaza (existing verified entry). Wikipedia: Vieques celebrates its patron saint festival, for Nuestra Señora del Carmen, in July, a religious and cultural celebration with parades, games, artisans, rides, regional food and live entertainment. Other Vieques events (Wikipedia): Three Kings Festival on January 6, the Festival Cultural Viequense in June (Wikivoyage shows costumed participants in Isabel Segunda on July 20, 2008), and the Festival de la Arepa in August or September. Exact dates change each year: check the municipality's announcements. Ferries and lodging fill up during festivals, and Esperanza and Isabel Segunda get loud late at night.
