Hawksbill Bay

17° 6.8′ N · 61° 54.0′ W · approximate

A bay of five beaches on the north side of the Five Islands peninsula, named for the rock offshore that looks like a hawksbill turtle; three beaches belong to the Hawksbill resort, including Eden Beach, the island's only clothing-optional beach.

Practical

Pin is placed between Hawksbill Rock and Hawksbill Beach (OSM) and checked to be in water. The whole bay can be swelly when the wind is high but is generally fine for anchoring (AMG). A rocky ledge runs along the bay not far off the beaches, so anchor a little out. Landing Beach (north) is public; Sea Grapes Beach and Honeymoon Cove are inside the resort (beach bar); Pinching Bay to the south is reachable only by sea. St John's is about 2 miles by road; Five Islands Village has small shops. Hawksbill by Rex Resorts: +1 268 462 0301.
