Jolly Harbour Anchorage (Mosquito Cove)

17° 4.5′ N · 61° 53.6′ W

Mosquito Cove opens to port as you enter the Jolly Harbour channel: a sheltered anchorage with the marina, customs, supermarket and boatyard a short dinghy ride inside.

Practical

Position is the OpenStreetMap small-craft anchorage node in Mosquito Cove. Noonsite (Feb 2025): good holding in sand and weed, though visibility in the water is poor; a little wash from boats using the channel. ABYMA: a quiet anchorage can also be had between Pearns and Reeds Points at the entrance marker to Jolly Harbour. Note that the harbour itself has no anchoring (Antigua Sailing Week guide): inside, use the 13 marina moorings (US$35 per night, first come first served, max 50 ft and 15 tons; call VHF 68 and pay at the marina office). Two dinghy docks in the marina (between A and B docks, and at D dock). Jolly Harbour cruisers' net on VHF 68 then switching to 74: Noonsite's port page gives 8:30 am, its weather page 9 am.
