Dickenson Bay Anchorage

17° 9.6′ N · 61° 51.1′ W · approximate

A long white beach on the north-west coast lined with resorts, beach bars and water-sports huts: the liveliest anchorage on the island and the jumping-off point for Barbuda.

Practical

Pin is placed off the beach west of the OSM Dickinson Bay node and checked to be in water. ABYMA: approach from outside Sisters Rock if you draw more than 7 ft; the bay is open and the sea can get uneven in some conditions; shallow close in but the bottom shelves gently and a controlled approach under Weatherill's Point is safe. Nightlife, a casino and restaurants ashore; land the dinghy on the beach or at Warri Pier (OSM). Wikipedia notes small uninhabited islands and a mile-long reef off the bay. No anchorages between here and Parham Harbour (ABYMA).
