Antigua Carnival
17° 7.2′ N · 61° 50.6′ W · approximate
Antigua's summer Carnival celebrates the emancipation of 1834 with steel pan, calypso and soca, J'ouvert at dawn, the Panorama steel-band contest and the Monday and Tuesday Parade of Bands through St John's.
Practical
Pin is central St John's (Judgement Square, OSM). 2026 ran July 25 to August 4 (T-Shirt Mas and Carnival City opening July 25; Monday Mas and Parade of Bands August 3 and 4); 2027 will be the 70th Carnival (tourism board). Carnival Monday and Tuesday are public holidays: offices, including clearance, may be closed or limited. It falls in hurricane season, so few cruising boats are around.
