Othonoi Aflakia Harbour

39° 50.4′ N · 19° 24.8′ E

The newer harbour at Aflakia, east of Ammos, gives Othonoi its only all-round shelter — moor alongside inside the breakwaters.

Practical

Coordinate is Noonsite's position for the entrance channel to the new port (39°50.35'N 19°24.81'E). All-round protection; moor alongside on either side of the entrance; final approach from the south-east; the buoys marking the adjacent shoals may be repositioned because of continuing dredging (SailingIssues). Note: mySea describes a small fishing harbour at this spot as unsuitable for yachts with a rock-bound entrance and uneven depths — probably pre-dredging information, so approach slowly, sound as you go and check locally. Keep well clear of the island's east cape, surrounded by shoals and rocks (SailingIssues).
