Vigli / St George Anchorage (Rhodes)
35° 54.9′ N · 27° 50.3′ E
A tantalising anchorage under the commodious Cape Vigli, off St George beach, one of the few relatively pristine beaches on Rhodes, with a late-medieval watchtower on the cape.
Practical
Sailing Issues: reasonable protection against the meltemi, good holding in sand, but gusty. In SW winds use the anchorage on the north side of the cape (mySea 35.91395, 27.83566). Khina Rocks, low-lying and hard to see, lie about 4 nm SE off Cape Vigli (mySea); Sailing Issues puts Nes China islet 7 nm, 100° from Cape Prasso lighthouse.
Best for
Wild south-coast night in a meltemi
