St Paul's Bay (Lindos)

36° 5.2′ N · 28° 5.3′ E

A tiny near-enclosed natural harbour on the south side of the Lindos headland, entered through a narrow gap in the rocks, with a white chapel where St Paul is said to have landed in about AD 43.

Practical

Sailing Issues: a tight natural harbour, 'a true delight', with plenty of rocks to take a line to. An incessant swell gets in with NE–SE winds; otherwise all-round shelter. Room is very limited, so arrive early and expect to take a shore line. Greeka: under-200 m beach of sand and pebbles with shallow, calm water, sunbeds and a small taverna. Walk up to the Acropolis from here.

Best for

Cosy line-ashore night below the Acropolis

Season

Untenable with swell from NE–SE
