Plimmyri Bay (Rhodes)

35° 55.6′ N · 27° 51.4′ E

A wide, sandy bay under Cape Istros in the far south-east of Rhodes, with a silted fishing harbour, a fabulous beach and a taverna, far from the crowds.

Practical

Sailing Issues: the port is silted except for the north-facing part of the pier, so you will most likely anchor in the bay, where holding in pure sand is very good. A water-sports centre operates halfway down the beach. 0.45 nm south of the pier an isolated-danger buoy marks the Giannoula K wreck. mySea also lists a jetty here.

Best for

Remote sandy anchorage and wreck dive
