Kefalos Bay Dive Sites: Kastri, Three Rocks, Skala & Krikelos

36° 44.9′ N · 26° 59.4′ E · approximate

A cluster of short-boat-ride sites around Kastri islet and the Kefalos peninsula: rock paths and fish schools at Kastri, canyons and barracuda at Three Rocks near the Agios Stefanos basilica, a nudibranch wall at Skala, and sponge-covered walls and drifts at Krikelos.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate: a point in the water just off the east side of Kastri islet, derived from the OSM islet outline (way 71527250, about 36.749-36.750 N, 26.987-26.989 E). The other sites are not positioned in any source read, so dive them with Sea World (Agios Stefanos beach) rather than hunting for them yourself. Sea World lists them as 1-15 minutes by boat; Krikelos is aimed at more experienced divers (wall and drift). The dive centre's gallery also names St. Stefan Basilica, St. Nikolas Church (Kastri's chapel), a house reef and Limnionas. The Kastri anchorage (see separate entry) is busy with swimmers and the islet is a popular snorkel from the beach; show a dive flag and keep tenders slow here.
