Kamari Port (Kefalos, Kos)

36° 44.2′ N · 26° 58.4′ E

The small working harbour at the south end of Kamari Bay, where visiting yachts go stern-to the outside of the mole for free.

Practical

The inner basin is reserved for local boats and ferries, so visitors go stern-to the outside of the mole. Freighters use the mole near the red light and their lines partly block its south side, leaving room for one or two yachts. Berths, water and electricity are free (Sailing Issues). mySea: up to 6 m at the outer end of the mole, water at its foot. An ActiveCaptain reviewer (2018) found room for only two or three yachts to anchor and tie back south of the commercial berth and preferred anchoring in the bay. Cement freighter offloading can bring hours of truck traffic. Restaurant of choice per Sailing Issues: 'Cavos' on the beach just north of the port, whose owner sells his own honey.
