Punta Cana Marina (reef entrance)

A small marina 2 nm north of Cap Cana, reached through a gap in the reef. It has a good restaurant, but little shelter from swell.

Practical

Approach waypoint from the Virgintino DR guide (~2015). Outer green buoy starts a red/green marked channel through the breaking reef; minimum 5 ft in the channel, 7 ft at low tide inside, tidal range about 1.5 ft. Fuel dock with a 1-ft concrete edge; other berths stern-to on pilings; water and power. The guide does not recommend it: strong surge keeps boats moving, and the narrow entrance is impossible with a NE or E sea running. Use Cap Cana instead.
