Cap Cana Marina
18° 29.8′ N · 68° 22.0′ W
A big-game-fishing marina dug inland behind the Cap Cana resort near the DR's eastern tip, with 150+ slips for yachts up to 250 ft. The engineered inland basin makes it the safest berth on the Mona Passage side.
Practical
Approach waypoint and VHF 16 and 72 from the Virgintino DR guide (~2015): a pilot boat and dockhands are available (the guide says 8am to 6pm), and the channel is well buoyed with controlling depth about 7–8 ft. The marina site (2026) lists 150+ slips to 250 ft and describes it as a protected haven in hurricane season. Clearance facilities are available on site. Resort-priced restaurants, deli, supermarket, laundry and Wi-Fi; Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) is close. Catch-and-release billfish marina, a member of The Billfish Foundation. The entrance channel is a challenge with strong easterlies and a sea running: arrive in settled weather. Rates on request.
Best for
A secure, clear-in-capable berth before or after the Mona Passage
