Propane is cheap and everywhere in the DR because it is government-subsidized, and Luperón's town laundries and the harbor runners make a long stay easy.
Practical
Position approx: Luperón town center; the services are spread through town. The Virgintino DR guide (~2015): propane refill stations are found throughout the DR with US fittings; take your tank or pay someone with a motorbike a small tip to fill it; the town has laundry facilities and internet cafes. A 2019 blog (updated 2023) reports Papo collecting laundry and refilling a propane tank from the boat (VHF 68). Ask on the cruisers' net (Noonsite: VHF 72 at 9am) for current laundries and prices.
