Island Anchoring Permits & Landing Fees (Eastern & Central Guna Yala)

9° 26.7′ N · 78° 35.2′ W · approximate

On top of the Congreso cruising fee, many communities charge their own anchoring permit (usually per 30 days) and per-person visit fees; Noonsite's cruiser-compiled 2018 list is the most detailed published schedule.

Practical

Coordinate approximate: Narganá island (OpenStreetMap), roughly central to the fee zone. Noonsite list (Dec 2018, verify locally; keep every receipt and ask for the island name, boat name and date on it): Caledonia $12 per 30 days plus $2 per person to visit; Mamitupu $10/30 days; Ustupu $15; San Ignacio de Tupile $10/30 days; Snug Harbor/Playón Chico $10/30 days; Isla Pinos $10/30 days; Puerto Perme $10; Río Azúcar $2 per person to visit; Holandes/Nargana $10/30 days on one receipt covering the Holandes, Coco Bandero, Nargana and Green Island ($2 per person for La Tortuga's 'swimming pool'); Gunboat $20 anchoring plus $2 per person; Salardup $2 per person (landings were suspended in a licensing dispute); Gorgidupdumont $2 per person when owners are present; Isla Gerti (Robeson) $7/30 days; Corazón de Jesús $10/30 days, occasionally charged around Christmas. Fees are much less common in the western islands. No published fee for Chichime was found. Anchoring reportedly not allowed at Nubesidup (unconfirmed). A 2016 cruiser was never asked for island fees beyond the Congreso fee (SY Juliane), so practice varies.
