Newton Cay (swimming pigs and kayak)
23° 41.0′ N · 75° 18.2′ W
A small cay off the north end where visitors kayak, swim with goats and Long Island's own swimming pigs, and watch turtles in the bay. Newton Cay Beach on the mainland side is a favourite cruiser walk from Joe Sound.
Practical
Position is the OpenStreetMap island node. Stella Maris Resort lists 'Kayak Newton's Cay, swim with goats and see turtles in the bay' among its must-dos, and its land tour stops at 'Omar's Island Ting' on Newton Cay for boating, kayaking and feeding animals. From Joe Sound, cruisers dinghy at high tide to the government quay at Seymour's and walk to Newton Cay Beach. Feed animals only what the operator provides.
Best for
Kayaking, turtles and swimming pigs
