Columbus Harbour beaches and snorkel
23° 39.7′ N · 75° 18.0′ W
A mile-long, completely protected inner bay beach on the north end's Atlantic side, with two more half-mile outer beaches good for snorkelling and shelling. Columbus is said to have entered this bay on his first voyage.
Practical
Position is the OpenStreetMap harbour node. Stella Maris Resort runs complimentary morning trips here for its guests; by boat it is reached only from the Atlantic side, so most cruisers come by road from Calabash Bay or Stella Maris. Shallow and child-friendly inside; snorkel the outer reefs only in calm conditions.
Best for
Shelling and calm-water swimming on the north end
