Flamingo Cay trails and beaches
22° 53.0′ N · 75° 51.9′ W · approximate
Flamingo Cay is the tallest of the northern Jumentos, roughly 300 ft high and green, with a trail across its narrow waist past salt ponds full of red shrimp to the north bay, curly-tailed lizards, and powder-white beaches.
Practical
Coordinate is the GeoNames island position (interior). Land at Two Palms and take the trail north to the North Bight, past pools of bright red shrimp (MV Privateer); a 2022 crew found no mosquitoes. The Wynns photographed Flamingo's pink salt pond in 2017. A 2011 charter account gives the island height as about 300 ft. Wear shoes: limestone is sharp. No facilities; pack out all trash.
Best for
A shore day between snorkels
