North Bimini Anchorage (Paradise Point)
25° 46.4′ N · 79° 16.1′ W
A long sand-bottomed roadstead off the beaches at the north-west end of North Bimini, near Paradise Point and the Bimini Road, with sea glass on the beach and a lady who sells Bimini bread from a golf cart.
Practical
Position from ActiveCaptain ('Bimini North'). Anchor anywhere along the beach; read the water to get in close for your draft. There is enough water to pass between the beach and the rocks off Paradise Point (ActiveCaptain). Holding is good in sand but seagrass patches can stop an anchor biting; mosquitoes at dusk (Noforeignland). Exposed to the west: a July 2026 report found too much surge from the south-west even in an east wind, and a front brought west winds over 20 knots at midnight. A popular staging spot before the crossing back to Florida.
Best for
Staging for a Gulf Stream crossing in easterly weather
