Bimini Northeast Anchorage (bank side)

25° 46.5′ N · 79° 15.0′ W

An open anchorage on the Great Bahama Bank side of North Bimini's north end, off a long empty beach, used as a weather-window stop on the way east to the Berry Islands.

Practical

Position from ActiveCaptain ('Bimini Northeast - 1'). Anchor in 7-12 ft MLW in sand; the deeper water lets you tuck close to the beach for protection from south-westerlies (ActiveCaptain; a 2022 review held well in 12-15 knots SW). A second spot, 'Bimini Northeast - 2' (25.7644, -79.2435), held a 2025 boat through 35 knots shifting S to N, rolly but all clear sand; approach from the north clear of charted obstructions. Another spot near 25.7474, -79.2335 (NE Bimini 3) gave shelter from a SE wind and surge on the west side in 2023. No cell coverage reported at NE-2. Open to the north and east.
