Bimini Bay North Basin Anchorage
25° 45.2′ N · 79° 16.6′ W
A dredged dead-end basin at the north end of the Resorts World development, with near all-round wave protection: the best hurricane-hole-style anchorage on Bimini when a front is coming.
Practical
Position from ActiveCaptain. Follow the dredged channel towards the construction depot and stay out of the way of tugs, freight boats and barges. Reviewers (2023 and February 2025) rode out several fronts without dragging; holding secure and quick to set. Work barges (Cape Express, Bahamas Express) land in the north-east corner on some days: anchor around the perimeter and leave the centre clear for them to turn. Jet skis at times. A dinghy landing is on the floating dock south of the dockmaster's office. Do not anchor over the reported unburied power cable in the dredged area near the Mega Marina.
Best for
Riding out a front in protected water
