Southwest Allen's Cay Anchorage (outside)

24° 44.7′ N · 76° 50.6′ W

The overflow berth just west of the Allan's Cay group, out on the open bank in deeper water and lighter current. Less scenic and less sheltered than inside, but you can swing on one hook and sleep.

Practical

Open to west through north; strictly a settled-weather or east-wind option. Sand bottom with grass patches, good holding where you can find clear sand. Dinghy in to the iguana beaches is 5-10 minutes. Deeper water suits vessels drawing over 6 ft that can't work the inside lagoon.

Best for

Bigger-draft boats and crowded nights
