Highbourne Cay West Anchorage

24° 42.9′ N · 76° 49.8′ W

The big, easy, free anchorage on the bank side of Highbourne, a broad sweep of clear white sand where fifteen boats can swing without touching. The classic east-wind roadstead for the northern Exumas.

Practical

Clear sand with excellent holding, a few grass patches to avoid. Typically 8-15 ft MLW. Protected from east through south-east; wide open west and north, so it must be left in a norther. Dinghy into the marina for fuel/store (there is a small dinghy fee at some marinas - check on arrival). Popular and busy in season.

Best for

Free overnight with easy access to fuel and groceries
